Rachel serves as the Vice President and Secretary of Retained Lives, and her journey to joining the organization is nothing short of divine. Nearly five years ago, she reconnected with Penny while inquiring about tailoring a wedding dress for a friend. That chance meeting led her to learn about Retained Lives’ mission—and the rest is history.

Phearum is the heart and hands of Retained Lives in Cambodia, serving as the Chairman of Retained Lives NGO and Executive Administrator. He is the steady presence ensuring that everything at the center runs smoothly, overseeing day-to-day operations, distributing cash assistance and education scholarships, and personally checking in on the children to ensure they are thriving in school and life.

Mara is the heartbeat of our center in Cambodia. As the center’s manager, she plays an essential role in empowering the women we serve, overseeing their sewing projects with expertise, patience, and care. Whether it’s providing training, ensuring top-quality quilts, or offering words of encouragement, Mara brings her kindness and compassion to everything she does.

Ponlauk is a vital part of our team in Cambodia, and his heart is truly on fire for God. As Phearum’s brother, he works closely with him to bring hope and support to the communities we serve. From helping with food distributions to visiting churches in remote villages, Ponlauk is always ready to lend a hand and share God’s love.
