PASTER PAT
Pastor Pat is the heart and voice of Retained Lives. As co-founder and President, alongside his wife, Penny, he has dedicated himself to transforming lives in Cambodia. Through his compassion, powerful speaking skills, and unwavering commitment, Pastor Pat has helped share the stories of the mothers and children we serve, inspiring countless people to join our mission.
His journey began nearly 14 years ago with a heartbreaking encounter—a mother, driven by desperation, tried to sell her child to him. That moment revealed the devastating impact of extreme poverty and fueled his passion to create change. Today, Pastor Pat works tirelessly to lift families out of poverty, prevent exploitation, and bring hope to those in need. He and Penny refers to the women and children at the center as “their daughters,” and every trip to Cambodia strengthens their dedication to their daughters well-being. Leaving each year brings tears, but also a renewed commitment to continue the life-changing work of Retained Lives.
Whether he’s sharing our mission, raising donations, or selling quilts made by the women in our program, Pastor Pat brings his boundless energy and love for people to every aspect of Retained Lives. He’s even embraced Cambodian culture—jokingly calling himself “SoPat” and savoring Khmer curry as his favorite dish.
We are so grateful for his leadership and dedication to the families we serve. Thank you, Pastor Pat, for being a champion of hope and change!
