PHEARUM

Phearum is the heart and hands of Retained Lives in Cambodia, serving as the Chairman of Retained Lives NGO and Executive Administrator. He is the steady presence ensuring that everything at the center runs smoothly, overseeing day-to-day operations, distributing cash assistance and education scholarships, and personally checking in on the children to ensure they are thriving in school and life.

But his dedication doesn’t stop there. Phearum is a full-time teacher and pastor in his village, a role model for his community, and a father of three. Recently, he opened a computer and English school, empowering kids with skills that pave the way for brighter futures. He also leads the soccer ministry, teaching boys and girls about values, morals, sportsmanship, and purpose—all while sharing the love of Jesus. Parents have seen incredible changes in their children, noting how they’ve become more respectful and thoughtful under his guidance.

Phearum started his journey with Retained Lives as an interpreter, but he has become so much more—a leader, a friend, a brother, and a son to our organization. His kindness, generosity, humility, patience, and thoughtfulness inspire everyone he meets. He coordinates every detail of our visits to Cambodia, ensuring we’re safe, cared for, and able to focus on serving.

Every month, with the help of his brother and others from his church, Phearum distributes food to poor villages, plants churches, and provides both spiritual and physical support to those in need. His selflessness, intelligence, and unwavering dedication to Retained Lives’ mission make him truly admirable.
Simply put, we could not do what we do without Phearum. Thank you, Phearum, for being a shining example of what it means to serve with love and purpose.
